Investment in Solar Energy
Solar panel systems have been installed at Tool Connection’s warehouse buildings in Southam and at Eldon Tool & Engineering, the company’s manufacturing facility in Sheffield.
Tool Connection are realising the benefits of solar energy that has seen us less reliant on the mains power and are able to use what we are generating on site, which has been a massive step forward in our mission for being self-sufficient and one day, we hope to be!
Since their installation, 150 trees per month are being saved and that number is growing day by day!
LED Lighting
In the offices and warehousing, lights have been replaced with LEDs in a move to use more energy efficient lighting solutions.
Environmental Policy
Our objectives to minimise any impact on the environment are detailed in our Environmental Policy. For more information, please read here
Carbon Neutral Initiatives
Oblong Trees
Tool Connection are a sponsored partner of Oblong Trees, who work with companies to plant trees in order to re-wild, restore and improve biodiversity. We are proud to be one of their heroes
We have agreed an initial 10-year plan, planting 2 x trees per employee each month. In the UK, Oblong Trees so far have planted a spread of 495 trees at 4 locations in Warwickshire and a further 165 trees in Malawi, with more planned for DR Congo and North America.
To see how our tree plantation is going, click here. Each time we donate, Oblong Trees will add to the number on this page.

Bug Hotel Competition
At the plantations in Warwickshire, Oblong Trees would like their sites to be havens for wildlife and are looking at wildflower planting, beehives and more.
Oblong Trees created a wonderful opportunity for schools in the local community to get involved and held a competition for students to design and build Bug Hotels for them to be placed at one of their sites to bolster the insect population. Tool Connection donated prizes to the winners of the 3 prize categories; Primary School, Secondary School and 6th Form. Click here to find out more about this important initiative.
